Available Positions:
Computer Software Programmer/Analyst
Organize and write documentation of program development and subsequent
revisions, prepare detailed workflow charts and diagrams that describe input,
output, and logical operation and convert them into a series of instructions
coded in a computer language. Analyze information processing or computation
needs, plan and design computer systems by using structured analysis, data
modeling, and information engineering. Perform trial runs of programs and
software applications to ensure the accuracy of desired information and program
instructions, and also correct any errors by making appropriate changes and
inspect the program to ensure that the desired results are produced. Coordinate
with other system analysts to define and resolve problems in terms of the
smoothness of running computer programs.
Recommend new equipment or software
packages, and evaluate computer printouts and performance indicators to locate
code problems. Investigate and evaluate whether networks, workstations, the
central processing unit of the system, and peripheral equipment are responding
to the program's instructions. Perform revision, repair, or expansion of
existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to the new
environment, and also write, update and maintain computer programs or software
packages to handle specific jobs, such as tracking inventory, storing or
retrieving data, or controlling other equipment. Research and collaborate with
computer manufacturers and other users to develop new programming methods.
Perform systems analysis and programming tasks to maintain and control the use
of computer systems software. Write, analyze, review, and rewrite programs,
using workflow chart and diagram and applying knowledge of computer
capabilities, subject matter, and symbolic logic.
